We have a new deck boss 590 and I’m doing the first burnout and was hoping to use for dinner tonight but I’ve had this thing on for 3 hours and it won’t go over 130 degrees before going back down. It’s maddening!!

Forget the burn outs and cook.

First, welcome to the forum.
Check to make sure you don’t have pellets bridging at the bottom of the hopper. Also check the RTD to make sure it isn’t leaning up against the barrel. If it gets bent it can throw off temps. Also call customer service if it doesn’t get fixed.

In case someone else needs this help - I called and they suggested doing an “auger clean out” by removing the lid to the left of the fire pot that has 4 screws, making sure pellets are in there THEN not screwing it back in so tightly. They said the manufacturer screws them in so tightly sometimes it inhibits the auger. I’m already hearing the auger go when I hadn’t before.

I agree - That’s my idea but not at 100 degrees and dropping!!
Good point!
Hopefully you get it fixed soon.
