Stampede Extra shelf

Anyone try using a Smokenator Hovergrill as a second shelf in a RT-590 (Stampede)? It has 240 sq/in of surface. I have one used with my Weber Kettle. Thinking about doing a dry run with thermometers to ascertain what temp difference there is versus the lower grates. Any input would be helpful.

Hi Sounds like good idea. I always like smoking on a top shelf and putting things under it.

22 inch round grill ain't going to fit in a 20 inch deep grill unless you do some modifications to it.

HiYa Gotta check the grate out. Maybe some expended metal from HD?

They have rectangular replacement grill grates that may work better for you.
