What was the old wood fired grill called? It had a grill that you could raise and lower using a round handle on one of the sides. They discontinued it a few years back and I'm trying to find one one line that is for sale.

Thanks a bunch

WyldSide.. Put your location in your profile and you will be more likely to find one near you.

Are they wood/coal fired vs pellets?

Wonder why it was discontinued.

No pellets, lump or briquette charcoal plus wood works great. I usually start with lump then add some ash hardwood from the trees I trim in my yard. It’s an interesting grill, great fun to cook on. It has a variable speed fan that sends air through small holes around the perimeter of the base to feed air and has two rotisserie mounts and two outlets to plug the motors into. It shares the same grates as the 590 to put size into perspective. I’d speculate that they discontinued the WyldSide (and the Matador) because they wanted to focus on the pellet grill only. They’ve since brought back the Matador pan for use in a Bullseye.

Kind of a Santa Maria style grill…maybe better with the rotisserie capability. Nice!

It’s probably the only recteq I know will be moving with me. I am also leaning towards bringing the Matador, not because I used it that often in Kentucky, but I expect to be cooking a lot more shellfish now AND I’ll have a propane hookup in my outdoor kitchen. I have a neighbor who really wants the RT-700, so I believe I can get a fair price while still giving him a fair price.
