So, seeing some of the various things about temps, I dug deeper just because I'm kind of a geek that way.
I did a couple of readings during the burn in, and finally decided to calibrate the grill to my known good thermos. I only did a few target temps, just to get a feel for it and see how it did. I ended up setting the OFS to -6%.
Today, I decided to burn it for a few hours and ran 30 minute tests from 225 to 425, and set the OFS back to zero. This is what I got as results. Bottom line....not really enough for me to worry or fret about. I hear about these things settling in after a few cooks (not sure I understand how or why it would do that), but it's tighter than it was the day before.
The only anomaly is the 425 temp. My two thermos were actually in sync and both reading 15 degrees higher than the Bull.
