@Greg Jones what is that cooker I see? This is looking good!
Thanks! That is a Halo 4-burner griddle. It is by far the nicest griddle I’ve owned. My first griddle was a 4-burner Blackstone, and in fairness to Blackstone that was long enough ago that I know they make much better griddles today. My next griddle was a 3-burner Pit Boss with the ceramic top. I just couldn’t get used to it, but I gave it to a couple who are friends of ours and they love it. First griddle for them, so they didn’t have to re-learn anything. The Halo has been a dream, and we are running a propane line underneath the deck off my big tank to keep it hot. As much as I am looking forward to being able to fire up a pellet grill on the deck, I’m looking forward to doing many more griddle cooks.

What's next after the outdoor kitchen Greg?
Well, I’ve had to put the outdoor kitchen on hold for now. They would prefer not to have my stuff on the deck while they are still working on electrical, masonry stuff, etc. In the meantime, I’ve been pretty focused on the indoor kitchen. Had to add new double ovens this past week as BOTH the ovens that were in the house crapped out. Still need to have the painter match the cover of the warmer oven to the rest of the blue/green paint OR I may look into what a new SS drawer front would cost me. I got these ovens for an $1,800 discount, So I might be able to work that into the budget. Otherwise, I’m pretty happy with how the kitchen turned out. Still have some other detail work to get finished, but I’m at the fun stage of the project.

Looking good, @Greg Jones; looking really good. Hope things are settling down for you now.

Very nice 👍

Interesting how we each see things through our own lens. I showed your new kitchen photos to the wife and commented on the overall design and layout; good lighting, electrical outlet placement, nice island, dual ovens and microwaves, etc. She said “very nice; is that Blue Willow china I see in the hutch?” Something for everyone, @Greg Jones; something for everyone. ;)

BTW, Blue Willow china is very nice and quite traditional.

Gifted to me first by my grandmother, about 5 years before she passed in 1992. I’ve added to the collection and some love it, some are not as easily impressed. That would include my wife, yet she made it her quest to find the more rare, unique, and valuable pieces at bottom dollar prices to gift me on special occasions.

dual ovens and microwaves…
I forgot to comment on this. The lower of the two is a Breville Joule Air Fryer Pro. I absolutely love this thing as it is so versatile and does everything so well. I really was fine with having the older double ovens in the new house as the Joule is the only oven I’ve used indoors for over a year now. But they crapped out so…

We remodeled our kitchen in Kentucky fall of 2023 and put in a new Samsung and microwave. The wife would heat water in the microwave and the regular oven was never used once. Hopefully a selling point for that house!

There you go, enabling me again! :ROFLMAO:

The outdoor kitchen made a LOT of progress this week! The walls are cement backer board covered by tile, so the walls should be for all practical purposes fireproof. Propane gas lines (two) had already been run from the main tank for the Halo griddle and low country boil/Frogmore stew cooker. I’m also going to put a quick disconnect connector on that line in case I want to swap in/out another propane cooker of some type. I may want yo get a taller stove like the old Camp Chef I had for canning season. It’s pretty much on me to take it from here. We may at some point give thoughts to having some more finished counters or a refrigerator, but for 2025 I’m pretty happy with this for a start! Also need to add a table and chairs on the right side, but not in a hurry for that yet. The Halo needs re-seasoning and I’m hoping to get that done for game day!

Are you going to bolt those grills to the floor so the gnats won’t tote them off?
