I think you'll like that better. The other is kind of narrow. It works for me but have to be careful.

Looks nice but just wondering.. is that BBQ sign raised on top? Does it get in the way for putting something flat on it like a tray?

It is raised slightly. Thin gauge metal. Works like a trivet. No issues at all

I'm thinking more people made their own then bought the factory one, besides, the factory one is so shallow, I'm not sure how useful it is? Here's mine, made from scrap Ipe decking from when I built my I deck. It'll definitely outlast the grill, that is some seriously tough wood, it's so dense it won't even float

I also use a cart next the grill for extra work space, plus I can wheel stuff to and from the door to the house. For some reason, I've never used the lid of the hopper for a work surface.
