Just ran across this. Guess I have been living under a rock. Has any one tried it, example Blazing Coco, a bit pricey but understand it is longer lasting and produces a more even heat. Asking for a friend 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I first used extruded coconut charcoal in my BGE probably 20 years ago. A friend and I went in together and bought a couple of pallets of them and had them air shipped to the Columbus, OH airport. Kamado still makes them, if I’m not mistaken. I’ve been using Fogo coconut briquettes in my PK for probably 6 months now. I love using coconut-burns hot, clean, long life, and very little ash. Costs more per pound, but I have no doubt the extra efficiency more than makes up for the cost.

Thanks @Greg Jones that was exactly what I was looking for and knowing you are using it gives me, er, ah, my friend more insight, 🤣 I will try it out as soon as I finish my current charcoal supply which is about 20lbs.

You don’t perhaps watch Michael Symon’s ‘Dinners Cooking Out’ show on Food Network do you? I just watched today’s episode, and they had this question before a break to commercial. Link to the video expires in a month, so if you are seeing this in September, please don’t ask for a new link.

I do and did, and yes that prompted the question. Too funny, I happen to like him and his show.
