Bull Cleaning light lens on 700 bull

This may sound stupid, but how does one remove the light lens from the 700 bull ?

Grab the bottom edge and pop it out. Give it a soak in dish soap & warm water and it should clean up nicely.

I clean my bulls light lens with cheap oven cleaner and the smoke cooking crud wipes off with a paper towel in a few minutes.

I gave up about 6 months ago. When I do have a night cook, I just use a flashlight. I should look into a magnetic light.

I use Ez Off oven cleaner. It works fast and completely gets the grime/smoke off the first time. I also have a clean spare that I pop in when I am doing nite cooks so I don't have to wait.

I bought an extra lens. That way every time I clean out the burn pot and drip tray I just change the lens with a clean one. I soak the dirty lens in dish soap and water over night and the dirt just rinses off with water. Clean lens now ready for the next time.

My 700 has a smoke box that is mild steel, the main drum door is mild steel, and the main drum itself is magnetic stainless steel (400 series?).

Did they change the way the light cover comes off? I see no way for it to pop out like guys are talking about in this thread. I had to take a T20 bit to unscrew the light. Even once I had it.apart for the life of me couldn't figure out how the cover comes off. Not a huge deal but was cleaning everything else so wanted to take it off and soak it.

I got mine in Dec. last year and it just pulls off. I have not seen any other mention it changed

Do you use a flathead screwdriver to get it off? I didn't try that because i didn't want to break anything
