BFG BFG Comp Cart Mod question

Has anybody come up with a way to actually make the shelf on the bottom of the competition cart usable? I’m thinking of hinging the front panel so I can open and close it so I can store stuff under there when not in use. Was just curious if anybody else has thought about this. Not quite sure why they put a shelf underneath of the only way to get to it is from the ends and it’s only like a 6 inch high opening.
