average cook time per lb brisket?

i have never cooked a brisket but just bought a 13.5lb one to try out. any rough estimates for cook time per lb on brisket at 225? i know my grill takes 1.75hr per lb for pork butts but im thinking this long thinner brisket may get done earlier than expected. thanks

2 hrs per pound will get you in the ballpark.

On average it tkes me an hour a pound of pre trim weight.

put her on at 11 pm last night at 225 this morning at 7 it was at 165 and i wrapped it.

How did it come out?

currently at 201 and the thick part is getting very close to tender and the thinner side is at 196 and alittle tuff. still grilling and will probe it every 20 min from here out

my 13.5lb pre trimmed weight brisket took 13.5-14hr total. definitely quicker than pork per lb. turned out excellent no joke. very pleased for my first attempt

I really don't pay attention to that. I usually cook mine on my stick burner for 8 to 10 hours so I can get a good smoke flavor. Then throw it on the RT for another 6 to 10 hours.
