I bought this little smoker box with legs from Cameron's last week & used it with hickory chips for a reverse sear ribeye cook on the Bullseye Deluxe. It was placed in a small rectangular aluminum pan with 2 ignited charcoal briquettes under it. The slow smoke at 225 degrees took 36 minutes to reach 120 degrees internal temp prior to cranking the Bullseye Deluxe up for the sear with GrillGrates. The Cameron's box did not affect the function of the Bullseye & imparted a pleasant, noticeable smokey flavor beyond what pellets alone accomplish.
I like this set up because it creates no mess & has a sustainable heat source under the wood chips. Also, if you're doing a longer cook you can just add more chips/ charcoal as needed & insure a consistent ignition of the chips.

Good to know - Curious to know if you think its significantly different than using either a small or large smoke tube filled with a combination of pellets and wood chips in terms of smoke flavor?

I’m not sure since I’ve not used smoke tubes. I used the Cameron’s box with hickory chunks for an overnight butt cook yesterday and was very pleased with the amount of smoke flavor. Only used 2 chunks & 2 charcoal briquettes. It was still smoking at 3 hours but for how long after that I don’t know. The chunks were completely consumed to gray ash by morning 8 hours into the cook.

So...does that box go inside your cooker with the meat? I'm not visualizing where it's at during the cook.

Yes. I place it in a small aluminum pan on the grate next to the meat. I place a small firestarter and 2 charcoal briquettes under it also inside the pan. It makes no mess. The legs on it allow it to be elevated and can be easily removed if desired. The box has a removable lid as well.

Interesting. Did you get a notable difference in smokiness? I would think so.

Yes, most definitely! I use chips for reverse searing and chunks for ribs and butts.
Do you have a manufacturer or model number, interested in looking into it some more.

Disregard, I found it. Looking at it.

Dang, I have been enabled again and it was not one of the founding enabler members. They know who they are 🤣🤣🤣
I checked it out and I just gotta try it, well um after the wife let slip last night. Must have been a beer too many when she confessed that food coming off the Bull is ok but she preferred the protein coming off my stick burner and more specifically hickory smoked turkey in any form. Well now to attempt a stronger hickory smoke. Without having to go back to a stick burner that my body can no longer handle.

Moral of the story Happy wife, Happy life or when she ain’t happy ain’t nobody happy.
