Might have had the same thing about to happen to my 1250 ,I do roll mine out of the garage each time ,anyway I remote started the grill at 300 ,was waiting for it to heat up and my wife says ,hey there's a lot of smoke out there ,so I go out and the thing is just bellowing smoke ,and not good...

You mention that when you had the grease fire you unplugged the grill ,did you let it go threw the shut down first, maybe if you didn't ,when you started it back up and then turned it to high it overloaded the fire pot ,just a thought?

My neighbor uses his for low cooks quit a bit ,he loves it, also that thing cranks if you want it hot ,he sent me this picture last week .Yep that's 844.F that's hot

My 1250 has a 3 Amp fuse ,not sure if the bullseye has it but might be worth checking
