This would all definitely be away from the side of the house and probably just in a corner of the yard. It will really just be how many of the grill i want to put in the area that will decide how big it will be.
I would definitely have the bull and blackstone in it and I’m thinking one more of...
Yea i meant built in setups. I’m just buying a new house and will have part of a clean slate backyard to build something on. My wife is forcing me to leave some area for my kid to have a playset and pool lol but I’ll have the rest to build on
Can everyone that has a nice custom grill setup in their yard post some pictures?
I currently have a Bull, Bullseye, weber gas grill, weber kettle, electric smoker and I’m also about to purchase a blackstone griddle.
So I’m looking for some ideas on how to get most of them in a nice setup area...
Yea I’ve had it pretty much from the start.
I did testing in the summer for about 5-6hrs
Changing auger speeds to see what temps were staying steady at what feed rate. Here’s pic of post i made in summer
I had it set it at 180 for 4-6hrs for the extra smoke. 50* overnight wasnt winter temps so didn’t worry and then was going to raise temp after that time. It just was not holding temp anywhere for the most part. I’m hoping it was only a pellet issue and will make my life easier if it is
I’ve never had an issue with wind or outside temp causing the swings it was doing this cook. I’ve only had to adjust feed rates when temps outside are low or high.
When i do my cook this week with fresh pellets I’ll know if it was that
That’s what I’m hoping it is. I pretty much ran the hopper dry with the last cook so i added a fresh bag in and I’ll just have to give like an 1hr+ run at different temps and hope for the best
Ive had to run the feed rate from 1-3.5% so far. In 95* weather i had 1 to get it steady from LO to 225. After 275 i had to go 2% to go steady from that point up but recently in cold i had going 2% to keep steady at LO and 3.5% for max. Just getting crazy, hopefully it was only pellets
Also...
I pretty much went through all the pellets that were in there through the night so i put another bag in so im hoping that was the only issue.
I also have the 3rpm which has always made me have to adjust auger speed for different temps but it never caused the problem i was having through the...
So I put a 10lb butt on to go overnight low and slow and would bump it up when i got up. Started at Lo and went from 180-225 to get it to steady out and when i got up it’s been on 250
That turned into a nightmare. All night i was getting alerts that the temp was shooting up and dropping too low...
I did the mod to my 700. Picked up a piece of steel from Home Depot. Measured and cut it myself and drilled it with a regular drill on a bench but just used a goof quality bit and it went through as easy as can be.
I haven’t noticed any type of differences with heating or cooling of it.
(Used...
Has anyone done any modifications to their Bull or really any grill to add doors and sides to the underneath to make a closed storage area?
I saw someone out what looks like a tool box underneath as the base but was looking for something possibly a little more simple just to have basic closed...
I did this to my 700. I had my shield warp bad. Spoke to recteq. They don’t offer the cast iron one either. They sent me a new regular one so i took the new one and did this mod first thing
I have the 3 rpm for almost as long as i have the 700. It Was a pretty quick upgrade after seeing how long it took to get to high temps.
But in hotter temps (95*) i had to work a little more to keep lower temps. Like putting feed rate on 1.0 to get a Lo temp and 1.5 to stay steady from 225-275...
I have mine in for awhile now and at first it will just take a little getting used to with getting steady temps from high to low since you’ll have to adjust feed rates to be able to do so.
