I also wanted more smoke flavor.
I got one of these.

Love it.
Pack with chunks or full splits, I pack in some lava rock to keep wood from flaring up.
Built like a tank, won't warp.
Makes a recteq literally a hybrid...
Recteq is totally dropping the ball on this issue.
They KNOW it's a PROBLEM.
Otherwise why did they change it?
Why won't they offer it to owners of the old style, AT COST.
Screw em.
I got the Heavy D Stick Diffuser from Smoke Daddy. It's built like a tank and I use chunks of real wood. Smoke...
Go for for it!
I understand you have a recipe, but here is the one I used for the marinade.

I already received it yesterday, 7-24, quick delivery!
I've read comments about it not being wide enough, but I'm confident it'll be fine for my needs.
Now, if they ever get the Competition Cart back in stock, I'll be all set!
Lol, I made that up..
Same as a Texas Twinkie, except I didn't use any brisket, all bacon, and some Mexican shredded cheese, with a panko breading on top.
Thanks to all for the replies!
Long story short, took it to 205⁰ before I was satisfied with the tenderness.
Juicy, tender, and check out that smoke ring.
All my guests hurt themselves eating so much. Lol!
I did a tenderness check at 197⁰ and it still had some resistance.
Got temp to 200⁰, and it then dropped back to 195⁰!
It's now holding at that temp.
I have to assume it's still rendering callogen?
Hey all, first post.
Just ordered a 590 last night.
As I was watching an assembly video I saw that RT has a Competition Cart for the 590, but it's not on the website.
CS says they are out of stock, without an anticipated date.
Is there a way to sign up for an alert?
