18" would give you a 2" air gap, and the griddle/grates would need to sit on top of the existing 22" grate. Maybe there's a 20" option out there!

Same thing happened with mine. I turned it off, then back on. It ignited on the second try. Got up to 450 during the initial burn in, then settled at 400. Cooked some chicken thighs and teriyaki steak on a stick and both turned out great.

@JGW That's a pretty good find! Price goes down with added quantities and free shipping when you purchase 10 or more. I wonder hard it would be to bend 1/16" SS cleanly?

I'm a wimp... my Bull was delivered earlier this week, but it's just been too darn hot (100+degrees) to put together after work. Planning on getting it assembled and burned in tomorrow and cooking some chicken thighs for tomorrows dinner.
