    Strange Day Yesterday

Comming home from church yesterday I stopped by Sam's to get some dog treats for the dog. Passed by the meat counter and picked up some baby back ribs. Got home and prepped the ribs. Got my phone app started and was shocked. I've been putting off updating to a newer app because of all the...

I ran across the video and thought there could be something there.

    Making Sausage

Hunting season is on the way. I haven't been yet, but hopefully I'll be successful this year. I'll be making my own sausage from the grind to the stuffing in the casings. Here's the part I need help with. The smoking and storage of the finished sausage. I saw a video by the Bearded Butchers...

    Grill Grates

I finely broke my grill grates out last night. Seasoned them and put them aside until I got the ribeye's to 115 degrees it. I've got to say the experience was amazing. Grilling the steaks at 225 degrees gave them a beautiful color. Searing them on the gratis was fast and exciding. The steaks...

    Oscillating fan

I've had the 340 since about May of this year. For the most part it's been a good experience. I generally cook at low temps, 225 degrees. Here lately the fan has been oscillating off and on every 5 to 10 seconds. It didn't do this until lately. Is the normal? It's kind of driving me crazy!

    The 340 went crazy!

My wife and I were sitting on the patio while I was smoking some beef back ribs. I was watching the app and all was going well. All of a sudden the actual temp started going down from 225 to 200 to 160, when all of a sudden the grill went kaboom puff, and started smoking heavily. I unplugged the...

Install A Gasket On The Lid

I want to Install a Gasket On the Lid. I used a smoke tube the other night, and noticed heavy smoke stains around the top and sides of the lid. Now that I have the 340 good and dirty I need to clean the surfaces so the gasket will stick. What can I use to clean the edges of the lid?

    Cooking On The 340

Been cooking with the 340 quite a bit. The first cook was sausage and asparagus. Got a silicone grilling mat. The mat is worth it's weight. I know sausage is not that challenging but it's been raining non-stop here. Just needed to break the 340 in. Next was catfish fillets. Then pompano fillets...

    RT-340 Legs

After reading the manual and wondering how to lower and raise the legs, how do y'all do it. The manual said to lay the 340 on it's side to lower and lift the legs. I just don't like that method. But watching Chef Gregg's video his son just lifted one end of the grill and lowered stiff legs, then...

    The Trailblaze To Arrive Tomorrow

Been checking the tracking number, and delivery should be tomorrow. We have a chance of rain. I hope not. Been watching many many videos on unpacking and get it ready for the burn in. I shouldn't have any problems. If I could just get it to it's resting spot and put the cover on it I'll be...

    New Here

Hello! Started researching pellet grills for about a year now. Then I found Rec Tec. My eyes were opened. Rec Tec was the only one. For what you get at the price range put it over the top. Once I figured out Rec Tec was the one. What model to get? The 700 was way to big for my wife and I. So the...
