I feel like this is a beginner question.....
I have had my RT for 7 years along with a stable of other cookers. After every cook I clean the grate to the degree it almost looks new. I see some pits have grates that are so loaded with carbon they are black. Is this desirable? Is there an...
I was surprised to be honest. I ordered a 1070 on Monday, got a shipping notice on Tuesday and it delivered today (Wednesday). I was pleasantly surprised, especially considering the out of stock status of almost everything these days.

I have a 7 yr old 680 that I'm planning to sell and replace it with a 1070 considering the sale RT is having right now.
Tell me why I shouldn't.......
Tell me why I should....
Or just give me any input you would want if you were buying one.
Thanks all!!!
I have an issue using my smoke tube. Each time I use it I make sure it is burning well. But, after I put it in my 680 it shortly goes out.

Thanks all

1. It...
First ever attempt. Only a 9 lb brisket. Wanted larger but it is one of the briskets from a cow I had butchered so it's what I had.
Overall I was pleased, the bark could have been better and the flat was a little dry. Maybe because it was thin. On a good note the point was awesome. I...
Though I have a cover on my RT-680 when it rains it holds water in the area where the flat top of the hopper meets the round part of smoker barrel. I put a small (6 inch) children's ball under the cover in the area mentioned. It forms a "peak" if you will so the water can no longer collect in...
This is only my second cook since replacing the original controller with the WiFi controller. On the first cook it seemed to take longer than before to come to 275* but I wasn't sure because I was doing prep. Today I paid more attention and it took considerably longer to come to temp than it...
