It is the 2500. I don’t know what their warranty position would be, but unless they come to a cookout at my house, I don’t think they’ll be aware. In all seriousness, if there was a structural issue near the hole I could understand not covering it. If it’s a control shelf / auger / etc, issue...
My BFG holds temp too well, apparently. It’s an odd conundrum. I got rid of a 6mo Timberline XL because I commonly had ~50 degree temp swings. It did, however, produce a ton of smoke. The BFG holds temps like a rock, but has no smoke other than on startup. It appears the efficiency of the PID...
Potentially moving the handle was the reason I went with the Magnum PIG as opposed to the Smokai. Looking at it now, I wonder if you could just extend the outlet tube enough to clear the handle?
I noticed some smoke in my pellet hopper (more than the barrel honestly) so I took some Lava Lock and sealed it tight. Haven’t had an issue since.

Something was different about the RK pellets from the LJs. Glad to see them back in stock.
I should be good for a minute with the 200lbs of Ultimate Blend that I got with my 1250. I’m enjoying the profile.
Have you cooked solely with the competition pellets without issue since noticing the problem?
Could you possibly have a build up of dust in the hopper/auger?
I like to smoke the eye on low for an hour or so before adding garlic/rosemary/thyme, vacuum sealing and dropping into a sous vide bath at 131 for 30 hours. Into an ice bath and then fridge overnight before throwing on the slicer.
You’ll never buy roast beef again.
Rural King has stopped carrying LJ. The claim their new RK branded pellets are made by LJ, but the consensus is they aren’t the same. Can’t beat the quality and price point with LumberJack.
That’s how we do them now. Only takes 5 minutes at 400 to crisp them and then I toss them in wing sauce that I’ve heated on the smoker. Perfect every time.
RT told me the pads were only for shipping to prevent scratching. My BFG horns are actually cooler to the touch without the pads. As an added bonus, I haven't had to tighten the horns once since removing them.
