    Smoked turkey breast...brined 24 hrs, then back in the fridge overnight... compound butter with thyme, lemon zest and garlic under/over the skin. Resting now...Smoked at 275 with a smoke tube

    225* initially but it was getting too far along too quickly so I dropped it to 200* and then to Lo, until it hit 140* IT. Then cranked it up to 350*. The skin was palatable but not super crispy. Nice smoke flavor, though. Buttermilk helps keep it tender and juicy.

    How often do you change LavaLock, if ever?

    I've got 2.5+ years on my 590 as well and the LavaLock is slightly compressed but still holding in the smoke.

    Two racks of babybacks...tender as can be...glazed one with Meat Mitch's Whomp Sauce and the other with Malcom Reed's Vinegar Sauce. Smoke ring for days! Digging BM's Hickory pellets. Lo for 30 mins, then 250 after...wrapped in foil after 2 hrs for another 2 hrs... glazed for 30 mins at the end

    So, would recommend wearing two condoms? 🤣 Just busting your chops! Not sure what the issue is with the recteq covers? Mine is going on 2.5 yrs and looks the same sans all of the pollen and gets full afternoon sun.

    Clean Up?

    I soak my grates in our utility sink with dishwashing soap and then use stainless steel scrubbie to clean. Easy-peasy 😁
