Similar experience to the others. I bought a Traeger at a Costco road show. I had problems with HUGE temp swings and when I called Traeger "customer service" not only were they not helpful, they were downright RUDE. I won't stand for that, I packed it back to Costco and read some "glowing"...
If you consider Recteq's approach to customer service, I can't see them making something like this a warranty dispute, unless the install was truly done in some screwed up manner.
I think @Crysis has a very elegant fix. It has inspired me to one not quite as elegant but easier and practical. Cut the cord about 6" - 12" and attach a male plug. Then just plug or unplug into an extension cord. Same result as @Crysis fix but less "drilling and fitting".
