I hav e a 590 and 380 both hold temp with in 3 degrees over a 3 hr cook, while keeping lid closed, if the lid is opened it become erratic trying to compensate, which takes about 20 minute, depending on set temp
I don’t think you’re gonna be able to turn it no matter where you purchase. If you have a problem, recteq support will send you the replacement part and walk you thru the replacement steps. If returning is your concern, I would consult with recteq before buying.
Changing pellets and brands you will notice temp swings. the causation is cheaper pellets are manufactured using more filler wood (softwood) the filler wood burns much faster than hard wood. The soft wood is much cheaper and more plentiful in the forest. Find a pellet you like and stay with it...
It‘s not gas or electric for fuel. it’s wood which has a lot of variable. I have three RT grills, the more you use them the better it controls the temp. Because of the PID technology. one thing pellet grills do not like is the lid open. Start grill, put meat on, cook take meat up turn grill off...
I have both a bull and a 590. I bought the 590 1st. I’m glad I did because if I had bought the Bull 1st I would have never bought the 590. The bull is better for ribs, chicken, hamburgers, I think the 590 is better at making bacon and briskets because of the WiFi and larger pellet hopper for...
My first attempt at Bacon. I got the recipe off this website, turned out very well. Local meat shop has whole bellies for $3.99 a lb. mine weight 14 lbs.
a lot of fun and saved money to you can’t do that everyda.
I bought my RT590, I moved up from a Weber 3 legged grill. I’m old and not a tech guy. i removed from box by myself, the box is made in three pieces very thoughtful because of weight. Plugged in and it pared with phone immediately on demand. It will hold temp within one degree of setting. This...
I received my 590 in business days. Opened box had 4 pieces of steel with wheels attached, must be legs for support. Put 4 pieces of steel in holes that they would fit in turned it up on wheels. cooked the very best butt I have ever ate. Manual??
I have RT 590 and it cooks perfect with the vents like they are. One good thing about just having the vents, easy to find a generic cover that will fit.
love my grill
I got my 590 last Friday cooked 1 Boston butt and a chicken turned out perfect. smoked butt for 12 hours temp held steady within 1 degree of set temp with kingsford hickory pellets. Great Grill
