I think the issue with leaving uncovered depends on which grill. The Bullseyes or any grill with the vents appears to have issues with rain which I believe includes the 590 now.
That being said, my Bull has been uncovered for probably a year. I have a cover I've been meaning to have a...

Brisket flats are tough.
Next time I would definitely wrap in either foil or butcher paper. I like butcher paper for briskets. Also, add in some beef tallow to the brisket and paper when wrapping.
Those RecTeq probes (in my opinion from what I've seen...
No but it does happen sometimes. I don't know if that is start-up or not but I start my Bullseye with the lid open. And I usually wait a few minutes even when the fire starts with the lid open. This does happen to me from time to time where smoke comes out the hopper. I usually open the...
I used multiple ones on a few of them since they had sent me extras.
Not 180, when opening the lid, I believe it goes slightly past 90 degrees. I'm not sure how it could go 180 or flat. I would love to see a pic of that.
Seems like we have different issues, if you have a pic, that would...
When I screwed my screws in tight, the lid would not close all the way. I got a new hinge, new lid but no difference. So I ended up using multiple (not washers) of those tightening washers on the screws so they were tighter but not screwed in all the way and that worked for me.
I believe since the firepot is raised up, you won't have issues with the water. I've had what you have happened leaving uncovered but since then, I've always made sure I put the cover back on. I also keep a decent amount of ash in there and I usually pus the ash towards the back where the...
I do not have the dual fire but I believe it could fit what you need. The dual fire is like having a Bullseye in your Bull. A lot of us have Bulls and Bullseyes. The Bullseye can absolutely replace a gas grill. You may not have as much real estate as like a Weber propane 3 burner but it does...
I've smoked items overnight plenty of times at low (180). I do always end up turning up to 250 to finish for hours but I haven't had any issues. I would do it again. If you think about a pellet grill compared to an offset, the fans for the pellet grill are contantly pushing out the air(with...
I'm curious about this as well. I would think it would keep the water out from the look of the set-up. I have an original Bullseye as well and got water in a few times but since then, always make sure I put the cover back on and haven't had any issues since.
You can look up online how to put your grill into test mode. The test RecTeq CS will have you do is empty your firepot completely and just turn on the igniter(in test mode) and put a piece of paper to the igniter. Maybe your igniter went out?
I know this b/c my dad's bullseye was taking...
Hmmmm, we got a new oven a few years ago and it has an air frier option. I haven't really used it b/c compared to a small stand alone unit, it takes awhile to heat up. So we use our stand alone air fryer almost all the time b/c it saves a ton of time.
If you do use your oven as an air fryer...
My Bullseye ended up replacing my Weber propane 3 burner. I haven't looked back.
That's being said, if you want to stick with gas, the new Webers look nice and always heard good things about Napoleon.
Glad your first cook was a success!
As other said, don't worry too much about pellet flavor. I was kind of obessed with that in the beginning so I understand where you could be coming from. If you were used to using charcoal and real wood in a charcoal grill, the type of wood zero doubt make...
As far as it came out - what @Waterboy said.
I don't go off time but rather internal temp/feel/look of the bark. So sometimes that can be (what most say) internal around 165 but I've gone all the way up to 180 or so b/c I didn't like the feel/look of the bark. I wrap my briskets in butcher...
I looked into this b/c I do grill in the winter even if below zero. I just did some pulled pork and temps were around 0.
I believe the website says the cover is only rated up to 350 temps. Obviously if just smoking with your grill, that is fine. I typically only smoke with my Bull b/c I...
Here is how I do my wings on the Bull. I do marindate my wings overnight or even up to 3 days.
I season with usually Holy Vodoo from Meat Church but it can be whatever you want. I do not pad my dry but maybe I'll give that a shot next time.
I smoke them on low(180) for 2 hours or so. Then I...
