Ok, I do live near RecTeq, but I have grates in all 4 of my grills and bought most of them at scratch and dent sales, which, you never know when the sale will be!
Please just go to Harbor Freight and buy a 9 dollar 4 inch grinder and a pack or one metal cutting disk, with the abrasive type of...
Hello DesertRat, are you at all acquainted with welding tools? You can go to Harbor Freight for about $20 and purchase a 4.5" angle grinder and some very thin cutting blades to remove the probe from the grill, then some scotchbrite pads for the grinder to re-shine the grill body.
Just be very...
Roaniecowpony, I tend to agree, however, we find that DiGiorno makes a great pizza and that is what I used here.
Now to your point, I get fresh pizza dough from my local store and or flat breads as Chef Greg does. these I do on the trailblazer for more smoke flavor!
You can put what ever...
Hello Tomatobob, just after getting my bullseye beta at the "RECTEC" fest in 2020, I decided to do pizza, didn't want to do it on the Bull or Trailblazer because the Bullseye is faster to heat and smaller.
I just followed the instructions on the box from frozen to grill at 500 degrees. I'm...
Epcotisbest, that is brilliant! Thank you, I have all the parts and will be cooking real soon!!!!
I have the 700 and the 340 and 2 bullseyes and live close to RECTE-C!
My friend who has a Bullseye, uses a large aluminum chafing pan under his spatchcocks and large beef cooks, but yours is a...
I have found that the history of low and slow cooking "smoking" was designed to make use of the lowest quality cut of meat, consequently, brisket, which used to be the lowest quality meat, has been popularized by who? US folks that have machines to cook it low and slow and who know how to...
Monday 1-31-22 at the headquarters they were having a scratch and dent sale 590 were on sale for $640. You cannot ever find out when this will happen, you just have to drive up and see it.
My "connections"? Never come through!!
I have bought grills at these sales, but remember, there is no...
Hello everyone, I always assumed the rain guards were for the accidental getting caught in the rain? Would anyone try to grill in the rain on purpose?
My RTs never get wet, just asking?
Thanks
Wow, I'll try the amonia and bag idea today! I usually use my pressure washer a couple times a year and they come clean very easily, but it's messy.
I bought the round grates brush from RT when I got my 700.
Thanks,
I use Pitboss comp blend in all 4 of my RT'S with excellent results and consistent pellet size.
Cheaper and better in many ways, I live about 15 miles from RT HQ, I can get their pellets any time I want them. I live 5 miles from Walmart and they have Pitboss all the time.
I jammed an auger on my...
Hello everyone, I own a bull and a trialblazer and 2 bullseyes, I had an auger jam using RT brand pellets in my 700 and as a newbi I wanted to stay with RT brand all the way. I bought a bag of Pitboss competition blend and compared the pellets and found RT had some 2 inches long, one of which...
Hello everyone, this is where the bullseye shines. Have thawed skinless breasts in a ziplock bag with olive oil and either Heferdust or Asian Pursuasion for as long as you can stand it. Heat up your grill to 500 with grill grates on. Give it about 10 minutes after reaching temp. Open the lid and...
Remember, the bullseye is a grill, while it gets most of my cooking attention, I have a Bull for large low slow cooks and a trailblazer for small low slow cooks.
They are smokers. Now you can watch for the RECTEQ Academy classes and get a used Trailblazer for about half price after it is over in...
Hello everyone, I used this recipe for my first brisket on a stick burner and on my 700 many times with excellent results. The bark is mostly the rub you apply so liberally apply it, I use Heffer Dust and or weber smoky brown sugar available at Walmart in the seasonings isle. Use yellow mustard...
Fellow RECTE C owners, I have an original bullseye and a beta bullseye, I am here to tell you both of my grills get up to 749 degrees in under 10 minutes burning pit boss comp blend from Walmart. With grill grates I'm get just under 900 degrees measured using my temp gun. I called RECTEC service...
Seriously folks, I own a Bull a trailblazer and 2 bullseye's one original one beta. I tell you if you could only afford one RECTE C grill, I would recommend the bullseye. It is my go to grill for everything except maybe brisket. It is the fastest heatup of any RECTE C grill. If someone had the...
Pit boss competition blend pellets are $14.96 at Walmart for 40 pounds. I use them in my Bull, my Bullseye's and my Trailblazer with wonderful results. I read a post once that I have tested many times. " Most taste buds cannot discern between smoke flavors". So give them a try.
If you want extra smoke, more than you get at low setting, look into a smoke tube that you fill with pellets and light and place in the barrel with the meat. It will last as long as most cooks.
There are many available from $10 up.
Happy smoking!
