RecTeq turning off app remote start up feature?

I normally season my protein and put it on the grill on Sunday before the work week and then I'll remote start the grill Friday while at work so it's ready for dinner when I get home from work. Figure 5 days of sitting outside is like dry aging......doesn't everybody do that?

What is your frying pan of choice?

I got a 12" Hexclad for Christmas from my parents and I like it for everything I have cooked in it but I haven't made eggs in it yet as I usually make those in one of my smaller non-stick pans as I don't need a 12" pan for 2 eggs. I'll have to try it the next time I make eggs to see how it goes...

RecTeq turning off app remote start up feature?

You didn't get the firmware update for your original Bullseye? 😂 I've never used the app to remote start my grill as I have to plug it in first anyways, so this doesn't really concern me. As long as I can still check the probe temps, adjust the pit temp and shut it off with my phone, I am...

    Twenty-four Hour Ribs?

My guess is they also have pulled pork and brisket on their menu. So when they say each cut is slow smoked up to 24 hours they are referring to those items. I'm guessing their ribs are just what they put in the picture. It would be interesting though if they did smoke their ribs for 24 hours.

    There's no going back...

Not something that tastes different but something that's gone. The old fashioned mustard pretzels. Now all I can find is honey mustard or mustard and onion pretzels. Steak ums used to be really good growing up, now I can barely eat them.

    Frog 🐸

Are you sure you aren't in an insane asylum where we like to talk about grilling? If that hasn't occurred to you, you're where you should be 😆

    Pig Out 🐖

That, they do not and for Black Friday and Cyber Monday they jack the standard prices up higher to mark them down more to be the same price.

    Pig Out 🐖

Wish I could get that here. Shoulders and shank hams are about $1.98 a pound when on sale and I just bought a chuck roast for $6.67 a pound. Just bought chicken for $2.82 a pound so I was happy that came down some finally and bought a bunch for the freezer. The first thing I thought of when the...

    Meater 2 Plus Announced

I'm very happy to hear that your pup is ok. The furry family members are very special and most days I like them better than my actual family members. Was the probe still operational after the surgery or didn't you try it out?

What is your frying pan of choice?

Thanks for the response @Mike. I'm thinking of going cast iron as I don't do much cooking where I am rushed. What do you mean by cleaning "could" be more complicated? I'm assuming you don't want to clean them very aggressively or put in the dishwasher but not sure as I've never had cast iron...

What is your frying pan of choice?

Sorry @Mike, I don't want to hijack the thread, but this seems like a great thread to ask the question. What are the pros and cons to cast iron, stainless and non-stick? What are the maintenance and cleaning for each? I've always just gone to Target and bought a $30-40 non-stick pan and when...

    New Recteq Models

I really wonder what actual improvements they made. I know the hidden grease trap is nice. Not sure where it is though. I wonder if they added a pellet chute like Lone Star has so they can't have burn back? Looking forward to seeing the inside of the grill and also wonder what the prices will be...

    Show us what you're cooking...

Whoops. Hahaha that's funny. Supposed to say pork. Autocorrect can't distinguish between my two hobbies.😆

    Show us what you're cooking...

I'm curious to find out your thoughts on the differences. I remember during the porn shortage ribs hitting like $7 a pound and that was enough for me to not make them for a year.

    New owner soon

Check out https://pcsrackworks.com/. This is who I was thinking about going with for the 2nd shelf in the 700 before the 1250 was announced.

    New owner soon

I've never had an issue with Lumberjack pellets or Bear Mountain. I believe the rule of thumb is something higher in fat for the first cook, so a lot of people will do bacon or chicken thighs or something along those lines but I could be wrong.

    Vacuum Sealers

It will do moist, not wet. Wet would be like soups, stews, chili. I think you can only do wet with a chamber sealer. I don't think this would work well for that. I've always had good luck with Nesco products though.

Have You Experienced A Lid Pop: If So when Did You Purchase Your Smoker

Oh I guess I thought that was the ignitor. I've never had an issue so I have never torn it apart and didnt know there was something inside of there that could be moved. I will look again the next time that I tear it apart.
