    Squirells - Public Enemy #1

I have these 3 squirrels that come to my deck all day long. I dont know if its the same 3 squirrels or not. But they wreak havoc and we at my grill. They are my public enemy number one. If I lived in the country I would plink them and throw them on the grill. But I dont.

    Cedar Plank Salmon.

Hello guys. I soaked the cedar planks in water for about an hour and a half. Then I started with the fish. 2.6 pounds if salmon. Brown sugar, and a favorite rub, bourbon brown sugar. Then some honey. I started it at 375 for 20 minutes, but it wasn't ready yet. So I took it off the Bull...

    Grease Fire?

Hi, look what happened to the lid of my Bull. I ramped up the temp, and while it was warming up, I had a grease fire on the left side of the grill. I shut it down and let it cool. Everything appears ok, but the lid paint is bubbled. WTF. My ancient Weber gasser withstands more abuse than...

    First try Burgers

I did them on the grates. Onions first while the grates were heating. I ramped the bull to 490 for the hell of it, why not. I tried to get the grill marks but that didn't happen tonight. Maybe next time. Either way, they were delish. My wife sliced some sharp cheddar but I didnt get any...

    Rec Tec chicken question

This is a 6 pound chicken cooked at 350. The internal temp is way more than 165 for the white meat. Way more than 185 for the dark. But the desired crispiness to the skin for me is not there. Is that the way it is on a pellet?

Rec Tec Cowboy Bone in Ribeye

Hi friends. Here is tonight's baby. The thing that's strange is that when I post pics, the pics post in reverse. The beginning is the last, and the first is the first. Let's see how the chronological order is this time. The temp seemed to max at 540 then it went up. What temps do yall...

    Foil your drip pan

I see that quite a few people opt to not foil their drip pans because in their opinion it's not that much of a pain in the rear to scrape and clean. Well, what could be easier than this? And look at that mirror shine finish underneath. Ok, so it's only one week old, hahaha, but still...

    Pig Candy

I did this once many many moons ago on the BGE. And decided to try it this morning on The Bull. Since I'm "working from home" due to the current situation, I can do things like this. Brown sugar, cayenne pepper, thick sliced bacon, and 350 degrees.

Cedar Plank Salmon - a question

Yo, has anyone here tried grilling Cedar Plank Salmon of the RecTec? I went back and tried to find posts here, but didn't see any related to this. I'm gonna try it when my Bull gets here, but wanted to see if someone here has done it. I may just use a grill mat, but the grill size is ample...

    Wassup Peeps!

Hello Rec Tec aficionados, I just wanted to give y'all a shout out and a thank you for all of the advise and input you have given me, without knowing. 14 years ago I bought a Large BGE with the table, and it was killer, amazing! But for most cooks it just plainly used too much lump charcoal...
