Has anyone ever had their grille start the shut down cycle and then not shut down. I did a short cook yesterday pork chops, couple hours then finished inside. So when done grille was only at 200 so I just hit off button, I saw the fan and countdown screen start but got busy and never went back...
Just returned from the store with my wife, looked for something to put on the rectec. Instead I left with nothing and instead a feeling that it may be time to sell my grille. Not even joking. 8 dollar a pound chuck roasts. 35 dollar eye of round 5-6 dollars a pound. Briskets here are 5 dollars a...
I've been holding off on sear grates for my BFG. I wax wondering what everyone thought are the ones from rectec worth it? They are on sale right now. Are there better ones out there? Like many of you, I usually use my weber kettle for steaks but would like the ease and convenience of the pellet...
So on many Facebook recteq sites been seeing people who are getting new BFGs with the round fire pot, compared to rectangle which mine has. Wow what a huge difference, smoke rolling out. Mine does not and will not do what I'm seeing in those videos. I love my BFG but seeing the upgrade pisses me...
Recently seen video on YouTube about feed rate from Recteq. In video they said grills should come with set at 65? Checked my BFG it was at 10. Changed it to 65...changed smoke output tremendously on low. Fan cycled on off like I would expect at extreme smoke....but it would no longer hold...
So the more I use my BFG the more questions I have. Just wondering if any owners here have done many baked goods in BFG. Pizza pies cakes etc. I have tried 2 pizzas, one great, one terrible the 2nd was terrible cause at 450 degrees my grille is smoking a bit not good smoke, turned pizza dough...
I've noticed that my BFG produces quite a bit of smoke on higher heats, and kind of dirty smoke. Put some pizza on it tonight and the dough kind of got a black color not pleasant looking. My opinion is this is the grill burning of grease and residue from other cooks. Also very cold in Ohio...
Would love to here feedback from Beast and Chuck Wagon owners on results they get with the larger cookers. I own BFG and from my results and others here the larger cookers don't produce great smoke.
I live in Ohio and would like to try smokering brand pellets and lumberjack both of which are not available anywhere around here. Could ship from blains farm and fleet?, at least lumberjack. Was wondering how you guys get your hands on these brands? As well as other good brands!
BFG delivered. Put it together. Did burn in. Did seasoning cook with legs and thighs at 400 degrees went great no smoke from BFG but not expected at 400. Did burger and put them on at 180 expected a fair amount of smoke really none to speak of. Finished burgers at 450 great flavor. BFG awesome...
