Crispy shredded beef or pork on the pellet grill?

Hi all, I heard one YouTuber say she makes crispy crunchy shredded beef on her air fryer. Like after she shreds her meat, she puts it in an air fryer with tallow to make it crunchy. I don’t have an air fryer and kind of don’t want to get one. Think I could make something similar by putting...

RT-1250 Great smoke on 1250. I used the Smoke Daddy with my 1250 on a smoked meatloaf on Thanksgiving and the results were.....AMAZING!!

How do you work a smoke tube? Do you have to light it or does it self ignite? Where do you put it in the cook? On the grill, drip pan, under the drip pan?

Smoke Daddy The “Heavy D” Stick Burning Heat Diffuser

Has anyone tried just putting logs in the bottom of the recteq instead of in the heat diffuser, will it work the same, or does having the log in the heat deflector itself get it hot, and putting the log in the bottom next to the fire box not hot enough?

This is not helpful. It's fairly common knowledge that pellet grills don't get as smoky a flavor as burning whole sticks of wood, but they are incredibly convenient and easy for temperature/firebox control over doing it manually. I'm asking if this one diffuser fits and I can get the benefit...

I know this is necro posting, but can I get a confirmation that the heavy-d diffuser fits well on the RT-1250?

    RT-1250 The RT-1250 Newbie Thread - Updated 05/24/2022

Got the 1250, assembled it, and about to finish my first smoke! Also for some reason, one of my horn handles got messed up. I put them on before I put on the "lid sweep" by mistake, and when I unscrewed it, it bound up and goobered up the threads. Customer service is sending me a new handle...

How do you eat a whole hog like that? I've seen the presentation like that in movies and cartoons, but never have I seen how it's actually carved and eaten.

With a little more research since my last post: yes, it's creosote, and I should probably clean it off.

RT-1250 I experienced the BOOM as well with my 1250

I'm going to set up my 1250 initially with no wifi connection, as I don't have any wifi in my current dwelling for the next month and a half. Will that be an issue with updating firmware? I can offer tethering wifi to my phone, if that can work in the meantime.

Thanks Pacman. I bought the 100 lbs of recteq pellets, so I'll use those at first. I have about 8 lbs still of pecan pellets from Costco, they seem a little long, I'll compare them to the recteq pellets when it gets here. I'll try your method if the lid open doesn't help at all. I'm not sure...

    RT-1250 The RT-1250 Newbie Thread - Updated 05/24/2022

I just got a 1250, being delivered maybe today, or sometime in the next week. Any tips and warning to give me? Do I need to worry about the first burn at all? How do I avoid explosions that I've heard about, just start it with the lid open until smoke and turn down the temp at the end of a...
