Bull Inner Lid Drip Shield sketch?

Ok, so it isn't the prettiest thing, but I will test it out with a cook later today.

2.5" x 34.5" strip of aluminum (.019" thick)

Bends are .5" either side. I used a long piece of angle iron to do the bends and a rubber hammer to do what I could not do with my hands.

First pic is the strip of aluminum.
2nd & 3rd are using the angle iron to help bend the metal.
4th is a test fit, first bend only.
5th shows how it looks when sitting in/on the grill.
6th shows it sitting in the grill with lid up.
7th shows it on the grill with lid closed.

Took about 45 minutes, all told. Hope it works. :)

Looks like that would work great. Might have to try this. Wish I knew the length of the Silverbac’s drip edge.

26 inches....give or take. The front shelf for it is 26.75" wide.

Cook went well, no drips on the barrel.

Might make another one so it hangs a little lower. 3.5" instead of the 2.5".

I am in too. who is making these for us? Cost? Based on Rec Teq's response on everyone asking about the cast iron heat deflector on the 1250 being installed on the 700's, I have a feeling their response will be the same for this part. I'd like to add it.

Okay, but it does not look like there is enough angle/bend to reach all the way back to the drip tray in the pictures.
That may be true. Atleast it doesn't run down the front of the grill. Even if it just runs back to the grate edge atleast it's not enough to cause a fire. It's not massive amounts of liquid it's diverting. Still wish I had one actually.

I guess it would be no different than not having one in the front as like the rear. Like you say it's not massive amount just more keeps it on the inside rather than outside. I would like one also.. just need to put the time into it at some point I guess or if RecTeq ever list parts for the 1250 that would include this.
