Heffer dust salt content

I have a prime tri-tip I’m going to smoke tomorrow. I’m thinking of a salt brine overnight followed by heffer dust tomorrow. Does anyone know how much salt is in heffer dust? I’m curious if that will wind up being too salty?

It is rather salty. I use it on my tri-tip (also doing some tomorrow). I usually just coat with canola oil and then season. I have never tried it with a salt brine.

Pretty salty. The Dust reminds me of Montreal Steak seasoning without the citrus/lemony taste. I like it quite a bit.

Most of the recteq rubs have about the same sodium, 480mg per serving, or 20% of your daily recommendation. If you are more concerned about taste than total sodium, what does your own palate tell you? That’s what I would go on.
