Look at the cook space on the 1250, the interior shelf, front folding shelf, etc. I have a friend with a Kumado and it is good for it's use...but I swear by my 1250 and wouldn't trade it for anything.
I have the RT 340, 380, 590 and 1250 (all for varying purposes). If your budget will allow you to spend $1700, you should go with the RT 1250. It's the same size as the 700, but comes with the front shelf and built in 2nd rack. I love it. I've had it about a year and it is my favorite of the...
Just a thought...leave the heat on a little longer and see if the griddle comes up to the same temp in all areas.
I use the griddle on the Bullseye often (not too often on my 1250 or 590) and I let it go a good 5-10 mins after the grill is at temp to ensure the griddle is evenly heated. That...
Tom, there are many good options noted above. Another great option is: invite your friends and family over and show off your new RecTeq and the awesome food you're gonna make.
I have that exact setup next to mine. I made my own butcher block to fit and it looks like you might have done the same.
Great for keeping aluminum foil, butcher paper, spray bottles, all the hand tools, sear kits, etc.
Ron, I have all four from the 340 to the 1250. Buy the 590. You'll enjoy it when it is time to make ribs and brisket or throw some corn/baked potatoes, etc. on with the burgers. Trust me. And get the additional removable shelf...it's worth it for the same reasons noted above.

It depends on what you want to do more of. If you want chicken breasts, burgers and steaks, get the Bullseye. It is great for high-heat cooking. If you want ribs, butts and briskets, get the larger grill. Admittedly, I'm spoiled. I started with the 340 (tailgater), then got the 590...
I am pretty biased and fortunate. I live just a couple miles from RecTeq and have only ever used their pellets (with one exception when Lowes had Kingsford for almost free on clearance). I'll stick with RecTeq.
Recteq Heffer Dust beats anything for all red meat (brisket, burgers, meat loaf, etc.). I found a cheap rub called "The Usual" at Walmart. Gosh it is great on chicken and pork. Give it a try.
Keep us updated on the heat issue. I put my Trailblazer and Stampede on a similar setup and used sheet metal covered in high-heat paint. Then I put both up on bricks at the four corners so it would have room to "breathe" under the unit. I have had no issues with that design. Hope your setup...
I built a bench to put in on and took the legs off the 590. The bench has a door to open where I keep my pellet bucket and other supplies. If you do that, be sure to leave space under the 590 for airflow. I raised it two bricks off the bottom of the bench and put a piece of sheet metal with...
I have the 590 and the 340. I bought the 340 first since I just have 2 in my household and it was GREAT. But when we have company over and I need to make 20 porkchops and some sides, I needed more space so I got the 590 to go with it. The 340 can do anything the bigger ones can do, it's just...
