It will be fine still. The wevac and vacfresh brand of bags have served me well over the years. Some brands don't hold up well but those have held up very well for me. I have used all the sizes and only had maybe 5 bad bags out of the hundred plus I've used

Congrats on getting one. It's a game changer.

Never used that one but has great reviews. Just keep in mind that most lower wattage ones require about 1 minute between seals. Also look for one where you can replace the heat strip. Makes repairs easier without having to buy a whole new unit.

I have had the weston pro 2300 for about 2 years now and use it for everything. It can use 15 inch wide bags so you can put a full packer or butt in them. Also cheaper than when I bought it. Down to $399 right now. It's a solid investment and made to make seal after seal without a cool down...

Also I trimmed alot of the fat off before cooking. Incase you have not done one previously. It was about 11 lbs before trim

My bad. I pulled it at 204 and it was probe tender and I left it in the butcher paper in the oven.

Thank you! Smoked it at 200 for the fist 8 hours. After it hit 170 I wrapped it in butcher paper and turned it up to 250 to finish off. Then put it in the oven at 170 till we were ready to eat about 7 hours later. Turned the oven off after about 5.5 hours into the 7 hours for it to cool.to 140...

Smoked a small 8 lb full packer a few days ago. Meat came from a local farmer. Was really good.

RT-1250 advice with new purchase - RT-1250 vs. Traeger 1300

Also I realize that I'm so late on this that you probably chose before the new flagship came out.

RT-1250 advice with new purchase - RT-1250 vs. Traeger 1300

I have had the 1250 for about 2 and some change years and love it. But honestly I would go between the new flagship and the 1250. 1250 can fit 3 spatchcocked chickens on top. The new flagship is a little smaller but I believe it has higher clearance for the top shelf. Plus the new legs look nice.

    New grill

Yeah I didn't know that it warped. I got a weber summit for really cheap. I'll just get a griddle insert for that. Also the other new grills don't seem that great to me. I currently have a 1250 and 340(folding legs not the easy to use new one). Also the new flagship is about the same size as the...

Any of you order the smokestone? I know Noone will be making a post on it for a while because it's a pre-order but just curious how many people ordered it.

    Vacuum Sealers

I have the weston pro 2300. I love it. Had it about 18 months. No problems. Used to have a food saver but it was too small.
