Outside temp is mid-80's. Not windy plus the smoker is in a protected place. I've done about six cooks so far and the startup is similar in all. Note that I have my drip pan wrapped in foil and also note my minimum feed rate is set to 3.5%.

When I start my Trailblazer for, say, 275 degF the temperature will overshoot to 340 or higher. Then I open the lid to take it down to 250 or so and then it'll come to a stable 275 for the rest of the cook. Is this common?
