Stampede GMG pizza oven is awesome

Well if there's a way to screw something up I'll probably find it.😬 I made the handle before my first cook and after reading how hot the top could get. I didn't have welding gloves so i didn't want to have to get my hands near the hot top. On my first cook the pizza my wife made was a little...

Stampede GMG pizza oven is awesome

The instructions with the GMG pizza attachment say that because of the high heat welding gloves are needed to remove the top...silicone or regular gloves aren't suitable. I made a handle by drilling a 11/32 hole in some scrap wood. It just slides over the metal handle on the top when I need to...

RT-1250 Powder Coating Melted on Max Temp

I tried it for the first time last night with mixed results....it didn't look too good but it tasted great. I initially set the temp to 350 but turned it up to 400 because the stone wasn't heating up quickly. Outside emperature was about 60. When the stone hit 625 on the IR thermometer I put the...

RT-1250 Powder Coating Melted on Max Temp

Good information...I called local dealers and they didn't know about this promotion. One looked at the website and said they would honor the price and work it out with GMG later. So I am now the proud owner a pizza oven for my 700. One question for those who use it: do you close the cover of...

    Stampede Disappointed with tech support

I sent an email on a weekend a couple of weeks ago because the temperature control knob was not working correctly. First thing Monday morning I received an email that was just a copy of an invoice sending me a new controller at no cost. At the end of the day I received a reply to my email...

    new probes for the RT-700

My probes became erratic about a month ago, with wild swings from below freezing (not in FL!) to much higher than actual temperature. I called Rec Teq and was told to make sure the nut on the input fitting was tight and to use a hair dryer to dry out the humidity in those fittings. It...

    Meat Prices = Non-Smoking Time

Yesterday I read the White House gleefully announced the Farm Bureau said the cost of a July 4th bbq went down 16 cents. In early Feb I paid 3.28/lb for prime brisket: https://www.recteqforum.com/threads/please-dont-read-unless-youre-seated.3216/post-34087 It's now 4.98/lb, a 52% increase in...

    Bull Competition base wheels

I don't have to move mine up or down any ramps so I can't speak from experience. It seems rather than pulling it down it might work better to push it down so you have control of the uphill end. You might try clamping a piece of wood between the lock tabs or even drilling a hole in each tab and...

Bull BFG auger motor in the RT-700. It's awesome!

I was away for a wedding while this thread was blowing up...just got back and confirmed that my controller will go below 30 so I ordered the motor. To get the free shipping I ordered the large shelf. https://www.recteqforum.com/members/chadinsc.6723/ you should get a commission on all the items...

    Wash bin for stainless grates

I use PBW (powdered brewery wash). It's a powder mixed with water. The pan allows the grates to lay flat so I don't have to mix too much. Soaked the grates for a few hours and then just rinse and wipe dry. They look like new.
