Since they’re giving you hell. Try sous vide. You know you’ll have the absolute perfect temp and then drop them on the hot bullseye (500°+) for a sear and to bring yours up to medium.
But there’s nothing you can do when you get poor quality meat.
What I have read the original temp controls are a big gap between the original and the modern design. I'm leaning towards not worth it, but I never see anything RecTeq come up on marketplace and had to ask. And I'm in the market for a Bullseye (I think) I have a 700 Bull
I have an opportunity to get an original Bullseye for $250 - What are the issues with the original over the new stainless model? is it worth the extra $150 for the latest version?
Wow, I just read this thread and was getting ready to buy the Fireboard. I was excited with the 6 probes and great reviews. But I will not support any business with shitty customer service. That's the biggest reason I jumped from GMG to RecTeq. I mean quality was obvious, but GMG's service sucks...
I had the swivels on and was moving along to the fixed wheels when I realized what I was staring at. I just left it stock for now. I’ll need a longer axel as the flared legs make this one too short. But eventually I‘ll do the mod. Just not during the holidays.
I’m not a big fan of poultry sheers with a thumb hole. It’s so much easier when they have the flat handle on the top side where you can use the pad of your thumb to really get leverage. Like these:
I ordered a 700 today and went ahead and ordered all of these parts as well. Looks like a great upgrade and one where I won’t lose the lower storage shelf by going with the Comp Cart. Can’t wait to throw this terrible GMG to the curb!
