    smoker tube

I’ve never understood the need for a smoke tube. My 340 creates an insane amount of smoke. I usually use Bear Mountain pellets or Lumber Jack. Tried Knottywood, but had really bad results. Bear Mountain is my go-to pellet brand and if I smoke something at 200 or 225, I get the most perfect smoke...

    Are you happy with 340?

I bought my 340 back in May of last year and it’s legitimately been the best purchase I’ve ever made! I use it probably twice a week. Mainly for meal prep (big batches of chicken breast or chicken thighs) and also for some longer cooks on the weekends such as pork butts, ribs, Tri tip, and...

TriTip - Smoke like brisket or reverse-sear like steak??

100% cook it like a steak. I usually smoke it at 225 for a little over and hour (until it reaches about 115-120) and then sear it on my Weber propane grill. Comes out absolutely perfect!

Thinking of getting an RT- 340

I love my 340! I got mine back in May and have been using it at least once a week. You’re gonna love it, man. One thing I will say, I bought the small interior shelf to add more space, but I rarely use it because it makes it too tight of a fit in there. I don’t really cook for a ton of people...

Thoughts on the All-Weather smoke vents for the RT-340 and RT-590?

So, I just received the vents and I took a few photos of how they look with them on my RT-340 and also what it looks like with the cover on. The cover still fits really well and they look awesome!

    Show us what you're cooking...

Made some amazing wings yesterday on my RT-340! This is my second time making them and I am addicted! Seasoned them with SPG (Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder) and some chipotle pepper powder, then tossed in Frank's Wing sauce. Came out incredible!

    Temp control issue

Glad that worked, Carlos! I am also in Tucson, AZ! Happy to see another RecTec owner in the Old Pueblo. Gonna be smoking some wings on my RT-340 this weekend. Cheers, good sir!

    Smoke flavor

What pellets are you using? I've used different types of Lumberjack pellets and holy moly my little RT-340 smokes a ton! I made a tri-tip yesterday and even though it only cooked for about 1hr 20min, it had a strong smoke flavor and even had a beautiful smoke ring on it! I haven't even thought...

Thoughts on the All-Weather smoke vents for the RT-340 and RT-590?

I should be receiving mine in about a week or so. I will update you when I put them on. That was a question I forgot to ask too. Absolutely love my rt-340 cover!

Saw them on their website and am curious as to how great they work. Wondering if they can be used all year long.

Horns Wiggle a bit on new grill - Is this normal?

Thank you for your reply! That makes sense. Honestly, it's not too big of a deal on the grill right now, but if it gets too loose, I will definitely do what you said. Thanks again!

Horns Wiggle a bit on new grill - Is this normal?

I've had my 340 for a few months now and I believe mine are a tiny bit "loose" too. I have no idea how to tighten them since mine came already on the lid. It doesn't really affect anything, but I definitely would like them tighter.
