Mine was making a knocking noise that sounded like the auger but no hopper smoke. My wife cooked on it the next time before I had time to clean it out. It kept knocking through that whole cook but has stopped now. I figured a pellet stuck or something.
We have the following in order of use:
Recteq bull 3-5 times weekly
Blackstone 1 time a week
Kamado joe classic 1 time a month (still my favorite but pellet grill gets used more because of busy schedule)
36" RCS gasser hasnt been lit in two years
This forum is great for starting out and getting info. I also learned a lot from smokingmeatforums.com when I got started years ago, before I had my rec teq. Jeff has a really good cookbook too and a 5 day e course. Well worth checking out both. Lots of good info that translates across cookers...
Gotcha. I left the bull plugged in from last time I used it so I could fire it up on my way home from work. It wouldn’t connect in the app and wouldn’t turn on when I manually pressed the button. I had to unplug and plug it back in. When I did that the code popped up so I assumed error code...
The last two times Ive used my bull this week I’m getting a code when I turn it on that says Uer 105. I’ll call support tomorrow but curious if anybody has seen that before. It’s also no longer connecting in the app.
We have a cheap set of steak knives that are on their last leg. Any Black Friday deals out there? Looking for a decent set of knifes that won’t break the bank. Preferably not serrated so I can sharpen them easier. Any suggestions?
We've been buying cabelas brand pellets from Bass Pro and like what we get there. It's convenient and I can't buy 6 bags at a time without taking up much space. I already have a pallet of lump charcoal in the shop. I don't have a ton of room left to add a portion of a pallet of pellets. Good...
Is it possible to easily fold and unfold the legs on a bullseye? I’d love to buy one for tailgating but my truck has a hard tri fold cover and I only have 21 inches of clearance for traveling with it closed.
I wanted a road warrior but it looks like it needs 23.5 for clearance.
We used to smoke then deep fry them. Good results. We use the kamado Joe and joetisserie now though. Once it’s up to temp it’s wings on and forget until they’re ready. Much easier than flipping wings and dealing with hot oil. If all I had was a rec teq I would smoke then fry.
100% Mesquite has the best smoke flavor of any pellets we’ve tried. We like heavy smoke and buy cabelas brand mesquite from bass pro. $10 for a 20lb bag.
@Waterboy What’s the height in that stand? I’m trying to find a pellet grill that will fit in the bed of my truck with the tri fold closed. I think it’s 22 inches high with the lid closed.
We usually plan on 40% loss. 1/4 lb per person for sandwiches and 1/2 lb per person straight up no bun. Those numbers are for a meal heavy on the sides. Always have had extra at the end.
