First cook today where I had to keep exiting the grill in the app and going back in to see updated temps - seemed like auto updating wasn't working. However this system is implemented, it's weak at best.

The grilling surface heights: 590 = 30" 700 = 32" 590 w/cart = 31" 700 w/cart = 33.5"

Anyone else wish the grilling surface was higher? Looking at the rt700 specs - it is 2 inches higher. For me, something like 3-4 inches would be perfect (I'm 6'2"). Yes, first world problems. Anyone do a creative DIY mod for this?

I would just DIY it - more options and less expensive.

That doesn't look right to me either, I have a gasket all the way around the lid and mine looks more flush than that.

Seriously, I assume this is normal?

It's a 5.5lb'er. Next time I'll do a low and slow 10-11lb and vacpac the leftovers.

Sorry for noob questions, but didn't find answers via search so... During wrap phase, do you poke the probe through the foil? Or is that bad? (I did and didn't seem to affect the outcome.) After smoke, when changing drip pan foil, I noticed ash on the rails the grates sit on. Is this normal...

Here's an interesting tidbit - for Grillgrates: Grillgrate.com: $109.58 Recteq.com: $102.09 Both out of stock but Grillgrate says they'll be in on 6/18. I'll wait to see if Recteq get them in around that time and order from there.
