I had this problem with mine too. I found that starting it up with the lid open always works. I usually run it for about 5min with the lid open, and then close it and let it get up to temp. I don’t think there is enough ventilation for the startup to effectively get the fire going.
Wouldn’t the lava lock seal the lid too tight? That’s the reason they have that spacer on there for air flow. I’m curious how others have made a drip edge. Anyone know?
Has anyone had any issues with their Bullseye with grease dripping out from the lid? It’s happened to me twice now, once with a spatchcocked chicken, and most recently with a grill loaded full of wings. And towards the end of the cook, I guess grease splashes up on the inside of the lid, and...
I’ve had a bad experience with these as well. Tons of ash! More than any other brand I’ve tried, including cheaper ones. I also know someone that due to the length of the pellets, it caused jams in their Rectec. I’d avoid these!
