Lumberjack pellets

I like LJ but I have to drive across town to get them.

I normally use Bear Mountain because they are stocked at my local store. I also use GMG pellets for the same reason.

i believe the general consensus is lumber jack, bear mountain, bbq delight, and cooking pellets are the absolute best. no bad choice there. i have had good luck with kingsford also

Lumberjack is not sold in my neck of the woods (closest place is 30 miles away) However, I picked up some 20 lb Bear Mountain Gourmet blend pellets at Tractor supply for 6.93 a bag. Wiped their stock out.

Great pellets. Basically what I use.

For me, the more expensive brands you might hear of I haven't seen much of a difference. I have used the cookingpellets which are considered a higher end pellet and the one thing I noticed compared to lumberjack is the cookingpellets produced less ash. But besides that, no difference in smoke or smoke flavor.

I'm back to using lumberjack as cookingpellets made their dealers who buy in bulk charge more. I used to be able to get cookingpellets from a local guy who would drive up and get a few pallets for 50 cents a lb. So $20 for a 40 lb bag. But they raised their prices and I've gone back to lumberjack which I again didn't notice any difference with smoke and/or high end temps using my Bullseye.

Can’t seem to find a LJ pellet seller in my area. The dealers shown when I use the link on the LJ web page don’t stock them. Any recommended second choice? Bear Mountain and A-Maze-N seem to be readily available around here.

Bear Mountain and LJ are both fantastic. You can't go wrong with either brand

Lumberjack are the best pellets I've used. However, Bear Mountain are a very close 2nd. Since Bear Mountain are made locally, I mainly use them since they are half the price.

I don‘t run LJ pellets exclusively… yet. But that’s my plan as soon as I burn up all my other inventory. Great pellets, and an especially good value if you have a Rural King nearby.
I was just in a Rural King yesterday and they did not have any LJ pellets in house. Made a special trip just to stock up on LJ pellets. All the pellets they had was labeled "Rural King". Customer service told me they would be getting LJ pellets back in stock but their brand was just as good & a dollar cheaper. I did not purchase their pellets and am wondering if they will discontinue selling LJ pellets????

I need to try out LJ pellets.
My local Dicks Carrie’s them. Need to make a trip to see what they have in stock.
