Hi All, Has anyone successfully added a rotisserie to their Stampede (or any Recteq)? if so can you please share your solution?

I have not, but I have a Weber Kettle with the rotisserie setup.

There was a company that made a non electric rotisserie that could be used in ovens, pellet grills, etc. Amazon's out of stock on those, but it looked pretty cool and could be used without modding or attaching things to the grill.

No idea how well it actually works.

I’m really surprised that ReqTec has not offered a rotisserie as a add on kit. There is a company on utube that makes a hinge for the bullseye that allows you to install a aftermarket ring that’s 4 and a half inches tall with a rotisserie mounted on the ring. When your done you just remove the ring and loosen two thumb screws and put it back to factory height.

Yeah, but that hinge is over 1/2 the price of the bullseye.

You are right about that it doesn’t really make sense to spend 400 dollars to upgrade a 500 dollar grill. I wouldn’t be surprised to see ReqTec come out with a cheaper version of this concept.

Just take the RT hinge off, and set the ring on it. Do you really need a hinge on the BE? I assume the lid would fit fine without it.

I have two rotisseries for this recteq, but I know that’s not useful to your question. What might be useful is to look at the Green Mountain Grill rotisserie. One might be able to fabricate something based on what they are doing. There are some good suppliers of rotisserie parts out there.

Thanks, lokes epic!! further probing on Amazon and measuring the Stampede i think the below would work if the motor unit was mounted on the right of the grill so not to impede the hopper. Also, it would be tricky to get and decent fixings on the left as the hopper is in the way.

That’s a nice setup. I like the herb garden right behind the grill. I need to plant me one like that. Those herbs are not cheap so if you can raise your own you could save some bucks. There’s a great video on Utube about making an herb nest underneath a spatchcock chicken to infuse all that flavor. Here in Florida I could raise them almost year round.

Thanks! I’ve now added an outdoor sink in the corner pictured above. That and the mini herb garden have made for a nice setup. Where I am in Kentucky, most years I have Rosemary, some thyme, mint, and parsley year-around. The parsley usually gets black and nasty from freezing, but it stays alive and comes back quickly after a warm spell.

Can't go wrong with a herb garden! We call them grow houses here ;)

I recently bought a similar setup from Only Fire, based on some of the other threads in this forum. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XHFLXB6?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details I got it the other day, assembled the few parts and placed it on my Bullseye to make sure it fits securely on the bottom bowl - it does, perfectly. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet, though. It was on sale for $104 over the holidays. Similar setup as discussed above. Can either remove the lid via the pin every time you use it, or purchase one of the DRG lift hinges as a permanent solution. Will post pix once I fire it up soon.

If I’m not mistaken the Bullseye is the same diameter as a Weber or most any other kettle grill, at 22”. So there a lot of aftermarket parts that should work.

Yep!

I can report a success people. Fitted the Onlyfire rotisserie today to the Recteq RT-590 Stampede. Did trial chicken which turned out great. Fitted spit rod equally between grill ceiling and drip tray at mid point with the intention of not having regular SS grates in. This gives best chance of getting a turkey on!

Will do second run with wing basket soon, a good Sunday!!
