In an attempt to get to know you guys and gals more what other interest or hobbies do you have? i my self am an avid outdoorsman. I love to hunt and fish and go camping. this is going to be my first season with my recteq 700 and im really looking forward to smoking all kinda creatures. no telling what you will see in the show us what your cooking thread from me this fall, surely deer and pigs maybe a bear or bobcat or coyote also. so what do you do when your not smoking? hope this thread is ok. it said off topic discussions

3D printing! Nerd at heart. Love the Tesla cars - it's all we drive now. Anxious to get my Cybertruck so I have an excuse to get a Recteq 340 to take camping and plug into the back of the Cybertruck. Also would be fun to use it tailgating.

thats really cool, 3d printing has alot of potential. i seen a discovery channel show were they are actually testing 3d printed organs for people that need new organs, but i think were a few year from that. the cyber truck is a torque monster! i love how you can use those as a power source also. the new hummer is an all electric truck also and when i read about it being able to be a power source the first thing i thought about was grilling in the back country.

That's my plan. Also has onboard air compressor (air suspension) you can use for tools. Will work great to inflate air mattresses as well.

Playing with my C-6 vette. Traded my C-5 Z06 for it, too old and lazy to shift in city traffic.

love the c6 generation. beautiful shape. the new c8s are amazing to. i love all corvettes really. i drive a silverado and a jeep wrangler rubicon. both have 35 in tires and get terrible mileage. love the jeep it takes me to some awesome places hunting. my next vehicle will be a gladiator rubicon with 37s. that will be the perfect hunting truck for getting into the mountains down the old washed out logging roads. my other hobby is lawn care. i spend the fall hunting and summer trying to have the best lawn in the neighborhood!

I'm retired now, not really by choice, but it works for me. I keep busy in my shop with my woodworking and leather work. Love to sail, but sold my boat a few years back after my job had me move to Oklahoma. I'm back in Texas now and wishing I had my boat back. Love to shoot and reload all my ammo, but I need to get back out in the country where I'm used to being so I can have my own range, which I have always had in the past. That move to Oklahoma, while I love that state and the house I had, pretty much changed my lifestyle, but just temporarily I hope!

Hunt and Fish...
Are there other things to do? I mean, isn't that why we have grills?

Check out my outdoor forum:

I can't disagree with that. I use to, but now I just stay too busy with all my other hobbies to be able to devote much time to those two. I spend time in the field, but it's to take my grandchildren, and that's more gratifying.

Chad knows much of this from our recent discussions, but I like shooting sports, reloading, a little hunting/fishing ( I did more of this when younger), HIKING - I've been section hiking the AT for about 12 yrs & have done 943 miles so far...only 1200+ to go! Only able to do about a week per year. Retirement in 2 yrs or so will help progress. My favorite activity is to comfort the afflicted, & to afflict the comfortable as practiced by a famous Jewish carpenter a couple thousand years ago

😊

Cooking has always been a passion. Reqs and Gene Wylder are helping with that.
2 boys still at home keep me busy with football:cautious:, rugby:D, and making sure they don't turn into snowflakes. That's no easy feat out here in CA. Hunting, fishing, camping...all as much as there is time for.
We ride motorcycles, mainly in Baja - my wife is the best moto passenger ever - and she's game to go on whatever adventure I plan.
Now that our backyard project is done, we're going to enjoy it this summer as much as possible between rugby matches, vacations and beachy distractions.
FWIW, my motorcycle affinity leans toward the Austrian variety.

Where do I start?

Other than grilling I'm into all sorts of other things. Primarily I enjoy running various websites which goes hand in hand with this very site as well as another hobby I've had for a long time which is R/C cars. In fact I run many other R/C forums along with this forum here.

In the last few years I've been getting more and more interested in wood working and welding. I think for me it's just a huge change from what I do day to day of being an IT guy sitting behind a computer to actually working with my hands and building something. It's a lot of fun.
