Comp Cart for RT590

My pellet grill will be on my back patio on level concrete. I can’t imagine any reason I would be hauling it anywhere or moving it over grass or gravel. That said, I sure like the looks of it, and I’m considering buying it anyway. My question is is the stock equipment adequate or is it a little flimsy? Just trying to figure out if it’s worth spending the extra money considering my situation. Appreciate any comments.

Roll mine in and out of the garage all the time, plenty sturdy. Your coin, your choice.

I purchased the cart with my 590 when on sale for half off. I loved the look of it and wanted the extra height. That said, I found it rolls amazing, but I had to modify it for height to gain an extra few inches for personal preference. I know the question was in regards to the stability of the factory cart, but the look of the comp cart just sets off the look of the 590 so much!

As @Wslayer said, your coin your choice. For me, it was worth it

I have the stock base and I roll mine over uneven ground pretty often and have not had any problems with it. With that said, I am pretty gentle with it.

Sounds like you and I are in the same situation. If I buy the competition cart it’s strictly going to be for looks. Not sure I will do that especially since they’re not on sale. Thanks to all for the replies. Sounds like the stock one is stable enough for patio use.

If you post where you're located (I might suggest updating your profile so it just shows in your posts automagically) there may be someone nearby that has one they can sell you for a little less since there have been a lot of deals on these over the years.

I was fortunate enough to get the cart for free with my 590 purchase around black Friday. I love the look of it and it is super sturdy. You will not regret getting it, I think it is awesome.

I have the stock base & move it frequently over fairly smooth brick. No problems. Wish the casters were a little bigger & also would rather have all of them swivel & lock for ease of positioning. But only a minor issue in my situation. Would be nice if RT would have offered a couple of caster options as attachments when you order a grill rather than try to make 1 type fit everyone. Caster rolling resistance also affects how stiff the legs need to be. Lot of difference between a smooth surface and grass or gravel.

Hi, I got mine through the sale they had but I have to say I’m glad I got the comp cart. It rolls over my bumpy lawn and onto the patio. In looking at the stock cart and wheels, I would have been nervous about it catching on the lawn and possibly tipping. The comp cart does make the 590 look more stout and overall better aesthetics in my opinion. Couple of drawbacks of the comp cart are that it’s angled out at the bottom so if you install a shelf that’s somewhat deep, it won’t lay flat against the cart like it probably would on the standard cart. Also, you do lose the extra storage space on the bottom.
